Re: New GX40 Gasoline engine
I thought about trying to straighten mine out but I wasn't sure if it might have stress fractures in it or not after all the bending. Didn't want to take a chance on it breaking.

Re: New GX40 Gasoline engine
I suspect that you have the low spd needle set too lean; would suggest that you richen the low spd needle a bit & then set the high spd needle for a rich two-stroke at wide open throttle (WOT).
Here's a link to a GX40 thread on RCU:

So, with any luck I will receive my engine for Christmas :) I have heard the instructions are good and I will follow them absolutely ......
The instructions are good except for the recommended 2 1/2 turns out for the high speed needle. The engine will flood at that setting. Most engines reportedly wound up at about 1 turn out, as did mine. My engine idled fine with the factory setting of the low speed needle and the instructions are ambiguous, so I left it alone. Here are a couple of links to threads about the engine that you might want to visit:

It's actually a PCI (Payment Card Industry) issue. Paypal gets real strict on shipping/billing discrepancies. I've had the same issue even on e-bay myself if there is a slight difference between addresses and it kicks it back as fraud. In the end they are trying to protect all of us, but it can be frustrating sometimes.
Hmm,
They had goldenduff as a registered member. They also had a Paypal payment with payment & shipping address. What more did they need?

Hi Golden,
These NV guys must be pretty flush when their procedures are more important to them than selling their products.

Re: New GX40 Gasoline engine
Hello All,
I bought this engine today! Looking forward to playing with it on the test stand and later in the air. Now where can I find a 40 -size Ugly Stik?
