After having the usual frustrations with cranking a new engine, I took it all apart to clean and inspect it. It's good that I did, as it had some black old packing oil and crud in it. I think this is an early Revlite engine pre-dating the newer NV Engines products.

Anyway I noticed the wrist pin floats and could potentially come in contact with the liner and scratch it or worse. Is there supposed to be some sort of retainer? I didn't try to disassemble the piston/rod assembly, just cleaned and oiled it. I see nothing on the exploded view that shows a retainer. So what's the story on this?
Thanks,
Rusty

I wouldn't worry about the wrist pin - it is hard pressed into the piston.
