Hi!

Anyone tested the new AX-46? I am really happy with my 40 but less weight and more performance is always welcome.Does the new .46 use the same carburetor? I am guessing the main difference is the stroke increase. Are there any other upcoming engines?

AX 46 has a bigger carburetor opening, which, along with a bigger desplacement, delivers more power than 40. The trade off is a fuel efficiency - more power, more fuel. The next new engine being offered soon is Big Mig 40 (plain bearing).

How much more power does this .46 make in comparison to the .40? Any propeller/rpm comparisons? I am guessing anywhere from 10-20% increase in power. Are the engines otherwise similar? (throttle response, easy to tune and so on)

Thanks for your quick reply!

The engines are very similar. 46 will give you 1000-2000RMP more on the same prop.

Are you going to make something even larger, like a 50. or 60. size engine?

What prop size is recommended for maximum power on the 46. ?

Recommended props are 10x5 to 10x7, 11x4 to 11x6 depending on the plane. No plans for bigger engines yet.
